FABLEWOOD — UPDATE 5 PATCH NOTES

FABLEWOOD — UPDATE 5 PATCH NOTES

Update 5 is live! This release focuses on creator tooling, social features, and a mountain of quality-of-life improvements. Headlining the update is the new Trigger Volume Tool, controller support, Server Discovery, and the Social Sidebar.

Trigger Volume Tool

Create scripted encounters without writing a single line of code.

Place persistent 3D volumes in the world that react when players enter, exit, or interact within them. Configure effects — sounds, spawns, teleports, weather changes — through a point-and-click GUI. Volumes are saved to the world and can be bundled into prefabs for reuse.

  • Place, resize, and rotate volumes with in-game gizmos
  • Multi-select and duplicate with Shift+D
  • Chain multiple effects per volume with optional delays
  • Fully extensible via the modding API

Controller Support

Plug in an Xbox, PlayStation, or Nintendo Switch controller and the game picks it up automatically. Movement, combat, building, and menu navigation are all supported. Analog dead-zone tuning (5–95%) is available in Settings.

This is the first iteration — some advanced features still require keyboard and mouse. We'll refine based on your feedback.

Social Sidebar

Stay connected from the Main Menu:

  • Add and manage friends, see who's online, send and receive world invites
  • Sync with Discord friends — changes to their avatars reflect in-game
  • Favorite friends, block players, and control incoming request notifications
  • Not available on parent-managed accounts

Server Discovery

Browse community servers without leaving the game:

  • Server owners can submit via the Hytale Account page; approved servers appear in-game
  • Search by title or description, filter by tags, and see like/favorite counts
  • Hand-picked Featured Servers are highlighted by the team
  • Recently played and favorited lists for quick access

Music & Audio

  • Audio Occlusion & Diffraction — sounds muffle through walls and bend around corners using raycasting
  • 60+ minutes of new music across three biomes: new day/night exploration tracks, short-form pieces, and ambient fragments

Additional Changes

  • Creative Mode Placement Settings — Replace, Type Replace, Extrude, Draw, Fast Place, Eraser, Free Place, No Physics, and Highlight Block Target
  • Item Name & Description Overrides — assign per-stack custom names and descriptions with rich formatting
  • Emote Wheel — 9 new animations and updated graphics
  • Chat Command Autocomplete — Tab and Shift+Tab to cycle through suggestions
  • Extrude Tool rework — combined Extrude and Flood Tools; adds Same Material/Same Shape filters and Fill mode
  • Prefab 3D Preview — interactive rotate/tilt/zoom preview before placement
  • Player Movement FSM — movement now uses a Hierarchical Finite State Machine, laying groundwork for future movement features
  • Simplified Chinese added; Dutch, Finnish, Italian, and Norwegian available for community translation via Crowdin

Thank you to everyone who submitted feedback and bug reports — a large portion of this update came directly from the community. See you in the next one!
